Welcome to Cafe Parkvillan, a delightful oasis nestled on Per Brahes vag in the picturesque town of Vaxholm, Sweden. This charming café is a hidden gem that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for those looking to unwind, whether after a stroll around the majestic Vaxholm Castle or simply a leisurely day out in nature.

As you step into Cafe Parkvillan, you are greeted with a cozy ambiance that blends rustic charm with modern comfort. With limited hours open from Thursday to Sunday, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, this café is a perfect stop for a midday treat or an afternoon fika—a beloved Swedish coffee break.

The menu is a feast for the senses, balancing sweet and savory delights. Reviews rave about the delectable vanilj bullar, a Swedish cinnamon bun with a rich flavor that Italian visitor Antonino Martino Pappalardo describes as a glorious rival to the classic cornetto. Each bite offers a perfect balance of sweetness and fluffy texture that can make any coffee lover's heart skip a beat. This café is also renowned for its selection of sandwiches, pastries, and comforting soups, ensuring that there’s something for everyone. According to Fatih Degirmenci, Cafe Parkvillan has a broad selection that appeals to many tastes. Whether you opt for a hearty sandwich or a slice of their heavenly cakes—like the nut or lemon meringue pie—you’re in for a treat!

The outdoor seating allows you to bask in the beauty of the surrounding garden, while the cozy interior provides a snug escape on cooler days. Customers like Mikael Winqvist have noted the friendly staff that make you feel right at home, enhancing the already inviting atmosphere of this small yet welcoming café.

For those who appreciate the charm of a rural setting, the café's peaceful location is ideal, making it an excellent stop after exploring the scenic walking trails nearby. As Rinus Broekmans noted, it’s a delightful spot for a coffee or tea break after enjoying the stunning views around the castle.

If you’re in Vaxholm and looking for a place that embodies the essence of Swedish café culture, Cafe Parkvillan is a perfect destination. With coffee that warms the soul and pastries that delight the senses, this café offers a uniquely enjoyable experience that should not be missed.

Great place for coffee or tea and cake after a walk in the area around the castle. Very nice atmosphere, both inside the café and outside in the garden. Limited opening hours (only Thursday - Sunday from 12-16:00).

I came here on a trip to the nearby castle, and i can confirm this place is awesome. As an Italian, the vanilj bullar here is what the cornetto will never be, incredible sweetness and texture in every bite. Of course the coffee is the usual but you can add milk and sugar to improve it a little. The atmosphere is indeed a country one, considering this place is half an hour away from the city, you are immersed in the farm ambience.

Good fika and lunch place. If you like walking there are some nice tracks nearby. The nut pie and lemon meringue pies were really tasty.

Small cozy place that serves lunch (there are pancakes for the kids) and delicious cakes. Plenty of outdoor seating and also about 10 indoors. Friendly staff.
